This May we decided to participate in the great American tradition known as
'the yard sale'.  Only this yard sale was a New-Age boutique, filled with hoodoo oils,
graveyard dirt, mojo bags, voodoo poppets, ouija boards, tons of other
pagan/wiccan avant garde items, along with tarot and pendulum readings.

I took pictures as we were getting set up, but I didn't photograph visitors or clients.
We had an amazing amount of people who were genuinely curious and really
wanted to see and learn about some of the different items available.

All in all, I would say it was a successful day,
and we had tons of fun.

We'll be offering these sales about once a
month during the summer months.

Enchanted Jewelry

Highlighted this month and offered at a special reduced price is the beautiful onyx ring above:

Black Onyx Ring, 25 ct.--
.925 Silver-- size 6

Self-Control Spell

Black onyx has long been used for its ability to promote self-control in the one who wears it.  This stone squelches appetites, whether it's an appetite for food, drugs, certain behaviours, or even sex...This stone will help you curb and control that which you wish to have dominion over.

To this beautiful and dainty onyx ring, I've cast a spell of self-control.  When wearing it, focus on that which you personally need to gain control of in your life and feel the change within yourself.

Black onyx is a protective stone worn when facing adversaries in battles or conflicts of any kind.  It also protects against any negativity consciously directed toward you.  Don't be put off on black onyx because of it's ability to squelch the wearer's sexual appetite; if this is not the desired affect, you can balance this stone's power of sexual repression by simply wearing a diamond at the same time-- the diamond is a stone that's sexually arousing...is it any wonder that it's the most popular gemstone for engagement rings!

Black onyx has energy that is projective (male).  Its planets are Mars and Saturn; its element is fire; and its powers include protection, defensive magic, and promoting self-control.

Health & Healing Oil

This ointment is used to "dress" candles used for healing or to maintain continued good health.  Annoint a green candle with this oil for healing of the body; a yellow candle for healing of the mind; a red candle for the physical healing of the reproductive system-- a yellow candle can be burned along with the red one for mental healing of sexual abuse victims.

Exorcism/Purification Oil

Annoint a black candle with this oil to exorcise those demons that are bothering you-- whether the irritation is physical or mental.  Annoint a white candle with this oil and burn it to purify your physical space or your mental/physical state.  I've used this oil to exorcise entities haunting my home, and I've used it to exorcise people from my life who were causing problems.

Mars Astrological Oil

This ointment promotes courage, strength, aggression, sexual energy, healing after surgery, exorcisms, and defensive magick.  I've found this to be an especially effective and strong magickal tool, and I want to caution you that this oil can also banish.  Use it wisely.

Witches' Oil

This is an "all purpose" oil which can be used to annoint the body prior to rituals or spell casting.  It can also be used to dress candles.

Psychic Oil

Annoint your third eye chakra with this oil before doing divination of any kind,  or annoint a lavendar candle to call up and strengthen your psychic powers.

Sex Oil

Carve your name and the name of the one you desire on a red candle; annoint it with this oil to ignite passion and lust.  Then stand back and be prepared for some fireworks!  This oil can be made to accomodate a monogamous couple, instilled with herbs to maintain fidelity.  If you wish, you can email me with your personal preferences.  We can work together to create a unique oil with the qualities that you desire.

Prosperity Oil

This oil is used to annoint candles for money magick.  It can also be used to annoint stones conducive to wealth and prosperity and carried in your purse or wallet.  It will enhance and draw the energies that stimulate the acquisition of money in many ways.

Summoning Powder

This powder does just what its name suggests-- it summons someone to you.  If you are in possession of a piece of clothing belonging to the individual you wish to summon, particularly intimate apparell, sprinkle it with this powder.  You can also sprinkle this powder on a piece of correspondence you send to this person-- although in this day and age of terrorism, I would be cautious about sending anything through the mail that has a powdery dust on it.

Black Cat Oil

Black cat oil is used to break bad spells and hexes, to attract the opposite sex, and to call in the spirits-- benevolent, magickally oriented spirits.  The ingredients in black cat oil is slightly different to attract the opposite sex, so make sure that you select the correct pay pal button.

Four Thieves Vinegar

Four Thieves Vinegar is a crucial component in many banishing and commanding spells.  It can also be used to banish illness.  It's reputed to drive away danger and rescue its user from disaster.

Graveyard Dirt

This item is exactly what its name implies-- soil taken from the consecrated ground of a cemetery.  Graveyard dirt is a necessary ingredient in many hexing/cursing spells.  On the flip side, it is also the key ingredient in many benevolent spells, including those for health and healing.

Banishing Oil

Banishing oils are generally used in banishing spells, whether you're trying to rid yourself of undesirable people, situations, habits, or things.  Just make sure that what you think you want banished, you really do-- getting something back is much more work than making something go away.

Command & Compel Oil

"Commanding Oil" is generally used in binding spells-- to get another to bend to your will and do what you want and to gain control of a situation.  This oil has a strong history in voodoo and New Orleans hoodoo culture and is used almost exclusively to exert your will over others.

Uncrossing Oil

This oil is most often used to remove hexes/curses placed upon you.  It's also brought into service to turn bad luck around and is used in spells for just such results.

Blackberry

Folk Names: Bly, Bramble, Bramble-Kite, Cloudberry, Dewberry, Goutberry,High blackberry, Thimbleberry

Gender: Feminine

Planet: Venus

Element: Water

Deity: Brigit

Powers: Healing, Money, Protection

Ritual Uses:

Blackberry was considered to be sacred to some of the old Pagan deities of Europe, and was used in worship. To the present day, blackberry pies are baked on Lughnasadh (August 2) by some of the Wiccans in commemoration of the harvest, seen poetically as the death of the God.

Magickal Uses:

The blackberry leaves are used in spells of wealth, as are the berries themselves, and the vines are protective if grown.

The blackberry plant is also used to heal scalds by dipping nine blackberry leaves in spring water and then laying them against the wound gently, while saying the following chant three times to each leave (27 times in all):

“Three ladies came from the eat,

One with fire and two with frost.

Out with fire, in with frost. “

This is an old invocation to Brigit, the ancient Celtic Goddess of poetry, healing, and smith craft.

Spell of the Month

 Wiccan-and-Pagan

Berry Necklace Spell

Purpose: To bring you health, wealth, and happiness

“Background: Berries are versatile ingredients, used in incense blends and potions. Their traditional symbolism is employed in spell work, and they carry magical energies. They also look attractive when used in charms to be hung in the home. This charm draws on traditions associated with mountain ash (rowan), juniper, and holly berries and uses their magical vibrations in charms for health, wealth, and happiness…”

(However, the berries listed in our newsletter above-- blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry-- can be substituted for their magickal purposes.)

You will need:

One red candle
One green candle
matches or lighter
One 48” length of black cord
One sharp needle
One blow
Dried berries of your choice
(approx. 4 ounces of each)

Timing:

Work on a waxing moon, Tuesday (Mars) for protection, Friday (Venus) for love, Thursday (Jupiter) for wealth, Sunday (Sun) for health and healing

Casting the Spell:

1. Cast a circle.

2. Light the red candle, saying:

“Health and heart prevail.”

3. Light the green candle, saying:

“Wealth and weal, all hail.”

4. Thread the needle, doubling the thread.

5. Pour the berries into the bowl, and with your hands palm down on them, say:

“Berries in your house of black
Never hold your bounty back.

Berries in your house of blood
Keep me hale and do me good.

Berries, for my sake
Happy find and merry make.”

6. Thread the berries onto the thread, while chanting:

“Three bright things I would possess
health, wealth, and happiness.
Health show, wealth grow
happiness all in this row.”

When the thread is full, tie the ends together, and pass it over your head. Walk to the heart of your house, and hang the necklace from the highest point.
